Things I learnt 23 June 2019
- This cool IAM policy lets an instance only tag itself - in general this kind of condition looks pretty handy!
facter ec2_instance_id gets the instance id when you’re on the instance :)- hiera lookup lets you specify a default
- You can do state surgery in terraform with
terraform state pull, terraform state push and changing the backend to local (two coworkers were migrating some modules in terraform and I got to watch!)
eval "$(rbenv init -)" lets you avoid having to use rbenv exec ruby...to set the ruby version- Puppet has a cron resource
