Dick Cavett on Dreams

This plays into my question last time to which so many readers responded, about how a dream can be, so to speak, written and produced and “played” before us without our being in on its creation. If we’re just the viewer, who is the dream’s author?

Meltzer tied in with this the fascinating distinction between the thing that makes us human creatures unique: consciousness. Consciousness, that is, vs. awareness. A dog is not conscious. He is aware, but only we are conscious. (You’re tempted to say some are so more than others, but let that pass.)
